You’ve Probably Never Heard of Shavuot... But You’ll Love the Food

The Holiday That Celebrates Cheesecake

Hi foodie,

You’ve probably never heard of Shavuot, but this week in Israel we celebrate one of my favorite holidays of the year.

Shavuot is a Jewish holiday that marks the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai, but if you ask most people what they love most about it, they’ll probably say the food. Traditionally, we eat lots of dairy dishes and baked treats—think cheesecakes, quiches, blintzes, and all kinds of delicious pastries.

So basically, it’s a holiday built around some of my favorite foods. From creamy cheesecakes to flaky quiches and irresistible cheese-filled pastries, what’s not to love?

I know you probably won’t be celebrating Shavuot yourself, but I still wanted to use this opportunity to share a few recipes that are perfect for any special occasion, or honestly, just because it’s Tuesday and you’re craving something delicious :)

Here are some of my favorite Shavuot-inspired recipes that I think you’ll love.
