The Easiest Desserts I Make When I Don’t Want to Bake

Dip. Layer. Chill.

Hi foodie,

Some desserts are baked… and some are built.

This week I realized that a few of my most loved desserts all have something in common, and once I noticed it, I couldn’t unsee it. Chocotorta, Brazilian pavê, classic tiramisu… totally different flavors, different countries, different vibes, yet the process is almost identical.

You dip biscuits or cookies, layer them with a luscious cream, repeat a few times, and let the fridge do the hard work. No oven, no stress, and somehow they turn into a sliceable, cake-like dessert that everyone loves.

These are the desserts I make when I want maximum wow with minimum effort, perfect for holidays, dinner parties, or when you just don’t feel like turning the oven on.

So today I’m sharing three of my favorite no-bake layered biscuit desserts that never fail.

Argentinian Chocotorta

A no-bake classic made with chocolate biscuits dipped in coffee or milk, layered with a rich cream of cream cheese and dulce de leche. Simple, nostalgic, and unbelievably good, it’s one of those desserts that tastes even better after a night in the fridge.

Brazilian Pavê

Brazil’s answer to layered dessert perfection. Soft biscuits soaked in milk, coffee, or chocolate milk, layered with a silky vanilla or chocolate cream, then finished with a generous topping. Creamy, comforting, and endlessly customizable.

Classic Tiramisu (Italy)

The most famous layered dessert of them all. Espresso-dipped ladyfingers, a light mascarpone cream, and a cocoa-dusted finish. Elegant yet approachable, tiramisu proves that a no-bake dessert can be both effortless and iconic.

If you love this dip–layer–chill style of dessert, don’t stop here. These variations follow the same irresistible formula, with different flavors and twists:

  • Pistachio Tiramisu – A nutty, creamy twist on the Italian classic, layered with pistachio cream for extra richness.

  • Strawberry Tiramisu – Fresh, fruity, and lighter, with strawberries adding brightness to the creamy layers.

  • Lotus Biscoff Layered Cake – Caramelized biscuits, a smooth Biscoff cream, and no baking required. Pure comfort dessert.
