Crispy, Golden & Delicious: My Favorite Hanukkah Recipes
You Don’t Have to Celebrate Hanukkah to Love These Recipes

Hi foodie,
Hanukkah is almost here; the festival of lights, fried treats, family gatherings, and all-around good vibes. It’s such a fun holiday to celebrate: lighting the menorah, spinning the dreidel, being with loved ones… and of course eating anything golden, crispy, and delicious.
And even if you don’t celebrate Hanukkah, this is still the perfect time to enjoy some incredible comfort-food recipes. Hanukkah food is all about warmth, indulgence, and sharing, and I promise you’ll love every single bite.
Below are five of my favorite Hanukkah-inspired recipes, some traditional, some with a tasty twist, and all of them perfect for the holiday season (or honestly, any day you’re craving something delicious).
Sufganiyot (Hanukkah Jelly Donuts)

No Hanukkah celebration is complete without sufganiyot: soft, airy, pillowy donuts filled with jelly and dusted with powdered sugar. Traditionally fried in oil to symbolize the miracle of Hanukkah, these treats are the star of the holiday.
Even if you don’t celebrate, trust me, biting into a fresh sufganiya is pure joy. Perfect for breakfast, dessert, or… anytime you need a little sweetness.
Churros
Not traditional — but definitely in the Hanukkah spirit! Churros are fried, golden, irresistible, and perfect for dipping into chocolate sauce.
Think of them as the fun, international cousin to sufganiyot. If you love a little crunch and warmth, these will be your new favorite holiday treat.
Potato Latkes

Crispy on the outside, tender inside — potato latkes are the iconic Hanukkah dish. They’re fried (again, for the symbolic oil!) and served hot with sour cream.
These are essential for any Hanukkah table, but honestly? They’re too good to save for one holiday. If you love crispy potato anything, you’ll love these.
Sweet Potato Latkes
A fun twist on the classic! Sweet potato latkes bring a naturally sweeter flavor and pair beautifully with sour cream or even Greek yogurt.
They’re a great way to switch things up during Hanukkah, but they also make an amazing cozy side dish any time of year.
Zucchini Fritters
A lighter, greener Hanukkah-inspired option. Zucchini fritters are pan-fried until perfectly crisp and golden, and they’re a fantastic alternative when you want something a bit fresher without losing all the crispy goodness.
Whether you celebrate or not, these make the perfect appetizer, snack, or brunch dish.
Appke Fritters

Crispy, golden, and packed with fresh apples! This easy apple fritters recipe makes the perfect Hanukkah treat, ready in minutes
