A Holiday You’ve Probably Never Heard Of (But Will Definitely Enjoy)

The Cheese-Lover’s Holiday You Never Knew You Needed

Hi foodie,

I’m really excited about this week’s email because I get to introduce you to one of my favorite holidays of the year — Shavuot (שבועות)!

Now, chances are, most of you have never heard of Shavuot and probably aren’t planning to celebrate it. But hear me out... it’s basically a holiday that celebrates cheese, dairy, and carbs — and I just know that part speaks your language 😉

So what is Shavuot?

Shavuot is a Jewish holiday that comes seven weeks after Passover. Traditionally, it's a celebration of receiving the Torah (Jewish Bible), but over the years, it’s also become known as the holiday where we eat a LOT of dairy. And I mean a lot. Think cheesecakes, quiches, bourekas, pies, lasagna… basically anything creamy, cheesy, and comforting.

So I figured — even if you're not celebrating, this is a perfect excuse to share some of my favorite dairy-packed recipes. Whether you're looking for a sweet treat or a savory dish, these are some of my most loved creations, and I think you’re going to be obsessed.

Classic Cheesecake

My tried-and-true cheesecake recipe. Rich, creamy, and smooth — this is the cheesecake I go back to again and again. No frills, just perfect texture and flavor every single time.

Salted Caramel Cheesecake

Sweet and salty in the best possible way. A buttery crust, creamy cheesecake filling, and homemade caramel sauce on top. It’s everything you want in one bite.

No-Bake Chocolate Cheesecake

No oven needed, but all the indulgence. This easy recipe has a rich chocolatey filling and a crunchy cookie base. It’s perfect for summer or lazy baking days.

Malabi

A creamy Middle Eastern milk pudding, delicately flavored with rose water and topped with fruity syrup and chopped nuts. Light, elegant, and always a crowd-pleaser.

Spanakopita

Greek spinach and feta pie wrapped in golden, crispy phyllo pastry. So flavorful and surprisingly easy once you get the folding down. Always a hit at brunches or picnics!

Quiche

Buttery crust, creamy custard filling, and lots of room for your favorite veggies or cheeses. I love mine with mushrooms, spinach, and a touch of nutmeg.

Vegetable Lasagna

Layers of roasted vegetables, creamy béchamel, and melty cheese between sheets of pasta. Comfort food level: 100. It’s a great meatless option for dinner or meal prep.

Or just pick one of my cheesecake recipes, not a fan of baked cheesecake? Try of my no-bake desserts and cheesecakes!

Breakfast that’s actually F-A-S-T

No more sad granola bars or sprinting out the door with just coffee.

Huel Black Edition is a ready-in-seconds shake packed with: 40g protein, 6g+ fiber, 0 prep. Just shake, sip, go.

Get 15% off your first order + a free t-shirt and shaker with code HUELSPRING, for orders over $75.

Even if you don’t celebrate Shavuot, I hope this little tradition of mine inspires you to try something new this week. I mean… do we really need a holiday to eat more cheesecake? 😅

Let me know which recipe you’re making first — or hit reply and tell me if you’ve ever heard of Shavuot!
